Digital Accessibility

Compliance Status

We firmly believe that the Internet should be available and accessible to everyone, and we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstances and abilities.

To achieve this goal, we strive to adhere as closely as possible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with various disabilities. By following them, we ensure that the website is accessible to everyone — including individuals who are blind, have motor, visual, cognitive, or other impairments.

This website uses a variety of technologies to ensure it remains as accessible as possible at all times. We implement an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities to customize the user interface (UI) according to their individual needs.

In addition, the website uses an AI-based application that runs in the background and continuously enhances the level of accessibility. This application adjusts the site's HTML, modifies behavior and functionality for screen readers used by blind users, and optimizes keyboard navigation for individuals with motor impairments.

If you have encountered any issues or have suggestions for improvement, we would be happy to hear from you. You can contact the website administrators at the following email address: amministrazione@lbcompany.it

Screen Readers and Keyboard Navigation

Our website implements ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technology, along with various behavioral adaptations, to ensure that blind users can read, understand, and interact with the site using screen readers. As soon as a screen reader user accesses the site, they receive a prompt to activate the Screen Reader Profile and navigate efficiently. Here’s how our site meets key requirements for screen reader accessibility:

  1. Optimization for Screen Readers: A background process analyzes the website to ensure ongoing compliance, even as updates are made. We provide screen readers with helpful data using ARIA attributes: accurate labels for forms, descriptions for icons (such as social media, search, cart, etc.), validation cues, and defined roles for buttons, menus, and popups. The process also scans all images and supplies meaningful alternative text (ALT), even for images without descriptions, using OCR technology. To activate screen reader adjustments, users can press Alt+1. An automatic notification is also provided upon entering the site. These adjustments are compatible with major screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
  2. Keyboard Navigation Optimization: The background process modifies the site's HTML and adds behaviors via JavaScript to enable full keyboard navigation: Tab and Shift+Tab to move between elements, arrow keys to navigate dropdown menus, Esc to close them, Enter to activate links and buttons, and Spacebar to select checkboxes and radio buttons. Quick navigation menus are also available, accessible via Alt+1 or as the first elements during navigation. Focus management ensures that interaction remains within popups when they are active. Users can also use shortcuts like “M” (menu), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump directly to key elements.

Supported Disability Profiles on the Website

  • Seizure Safe Mode: Allows individuals with epilepsy to browse safely by eliminating flashing animations and potentially hazardous color combinations.
  • Vision Impaired Mode: Adjusts the website for users with reduced vision, such as blurred vision, tunnel vision, cataracts, glaucoma, and similar conditions.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: Provides support options for users with dyslexia, autism, stroke (CVA), and other cognitive disabilities.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: Helps users with ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders focus better by minimizing distractions.
  • Blind Users Mode: Configures the website for use with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. These software tools should be supported by every website.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor Impairments): Enables full website use via keyboard using Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and shortcuts like “M” (menu), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics).

Additional Adjustments for UI, Design, and Readability

  1. Font Adjustments – Users can increase or decrease text size, change the font, adjust spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  2. Color Adjustments – Users can choose contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. They can also customize color combinations for text, headings, and backgrounds.
  3. Animations – Epileptic users can disable all active animations, including GIFs, videos, and CSS transitions.
  4. Content Highlighting – Allows users to highlight links, headings, and other important elements — either all at once or only when active or hovered.
  5. Audio Muting – For users with hearing devices, it is possible to instantly mute all website audio.
  6. Cognitive Disability Support – Through a search engine connected to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, users can better understand phrases, acronyms, and complex terms.
  7. Additional Features – Options to change the color and size of the cursor, enable print mode, use a virtual keyboard, and much more.

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technologies

We aim to support as many browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so that every user can choose the tools that best suit their needs without limitations. The website is compatible with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge, JAWS, and NVDA.
